Disfruta el otoño con Monk

Autumn is here, one of the favorite times of the year for many. As the cold days begin to set in, nothing feels as good as the company of your loved ones, as well as a good drink to mitigate the climate of this season.


That's why here we share 3 recipes for warm drinks that you can prepare with Monk® to share with family or friends and enjoy these autumn days even more. Which one are you going to prepare?


ATOLE CHAI


Ingredients:

1 liter of vegetable slurry

1/4 tablespoon ground cardamom

5 allspice berries

1 cinnamon stick

3 cloves

1/2 tablespoon ginger powder

1/4 tablespoon powdered nutmeg

3 star anise

2 1/2 tablespoons Monk®

1 sachet of nutty cornstarch

 

Preparation:

  • Heat 1 liter of slurry with the spices and once it comes to a boil, remove from the heat and cover. Let it rest for 10 minutes and strain.
  • Separately, dissolve Monk® and nutty cornstarch in 1 cup of slurry.
  • Pour the nutty cornstarch mixture into the hot slurry previously flavored with spices.
  • Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for approximately 3 minutes or until thickened.

PUNCH

 

Ingredients:

8 lemons cut into slices

6 liters of water

1 kilo of guavas

1 apple cut into slices

1/3 cup Monk®

8 cloves

1 cinnamon stick

10 prunes

½ cup washed hibiscus flower

2 sugar canes peeled and cut into strips

½ kilo of tejocote

Preparation:

  • Boil a liter of water and add the tejocotes; Cook for 15 minutes until the skin comes off easily.
  • Place 5 liters of water in a pot, add the cinnamon, cloves, tejocotes, sugar cane, hibiscus flower and Monk® over medium heat for 10 minutes.
  • Add the guavas, apple and lemons; Leave on the heat for 5 more minutes.
  • Serve the lemon punch and enjoy.

 

HOT CHOCOLATE

 

Ingredients:

1/4 cup of water

6 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder

⅓ cup of granulated Monk® or 3 grams of Monk® PURE

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon orange peel, grated

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

5 1/2 cups vegetable slurry

2 cinnamon sticks

1/8 teaspoon salt



Preparation:

  • Mix and whisk the water, cocoa powder and Monk® in a saucepan.
  • Boil over medium heat and stir gently.
  • Leave on heat until the mixture thickens and acquires the consistency of a syrup.
  • Add the other ingredients, mix and heat. Do not boil, serve hot.
